Kapolei is a master-planned urban community located on the west side of Oahu. The community consists of several upscale neighborhoods set against the scenic backdrop of the Wai’anae mountain range and overlooking the majestic shores of the Pacific Ocean. The area offers nearly perfect year-round weather with average temperatures in the mid-80s. Kapolei is a rapidly growing area that is becoming a city second only to Honolulu, but with a more open and suburban feel. Additional shopping is found predominantly along Kapolei Parkway and Farrington Highway. Kapolei is a master-planned urban neighborhood offering a close-knit community and welcoming vibe. The area is fast becoming a major metropolitan area, but unlike Honolulu, this community has a more open, small-town feel. The residents of Kapolei enjoy spending time outdoors, walking, biking, jogging, or hanging out at the beach. Families often gather at community pools and parks for exercise, fun, socializing, picnics, and sports. The community also offers residents unique shops, malls, boutiques, and cafes. Nearby resorts are great destinations for getaway weekends, pampering, and fine dining. Access to the light rail train allows residents to travel to the excitement and upscale dining in Honolulu without dealing with traffic or parking.

Residents of Kapolei have convenient access to fantastic dining venues just minutes from home, at local resorts, and in downtown Honolulu. The Ko Olina Resort serves Asian-inspired cuisine in a sophisticated setting at Roy’s Ko Olina also offers a classy modern ambiance at Longhi’s Ko Olina, with a menu of fresh seafood and steaks. La Hiki in the Four Seasons Resort features a diverse international menu in a stylish open-air dining space. Mad Bene is a local favorite for classic Italian fare, and DB Grill has Hawaiian favorites and Asian cuisine. For fresh, tasty, and beautifully prepared Japanese food and sushi, visit the Sakura Japanese Restaurant, and for unique and spicy Cajun, there’s no place like the Kickin’ Kajun.
 
The Ka Makana Ali‘i mall is a favorite among local shoppers. The mall is home to a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and a fantastic cinema. Another frequented shopping center is the Kapolei Commons, which offers many great restaurants and shops and is the site of many local events.
 

Things to Do

Kapolei has something for everyone. Most activities and amenities are located within or just minutes from the neighborhood. The  KROC Center is a unique community center run by the Salvation Army. This community center offers an impressive list of resort-style amenities, including two beautiful pools, a lazy river, water slides, aquatic climbing walls, and so much more. Kapolei is close to the Ko Olina Resort, Marriott’s Ko Olina Beach Club, Disney's Aulani Resort, and Four Seasons Resort, providing endless upscale amenities for recreation and relaxation. For a taste of Hawaiian culture, go to a traditional luau at Paradise Cove Luau. The community is minutes from beautiful public parks and beaches, including White Plains Beach, Kahe Point Beach Park, Pu’uloa Beach Park, and One’ula Beach Park. The parks and beaches are great places for swimming, surfing, sunbathing, snorkeling, fishing, and watersports. Golfers are located within a five-mile radius of several championship golf courses, including Hoakalei, Ewa Villages, Hawaii Prince, and Coral Creek. For a day of fabulous fun for the whole family, visit the Wet and Wild Hawaii Waterpark or the Coral Crater Adventure Park.
